Leslie Banks began his career on the stage in 1911 and went on to become a
well-repsected character actor in many English films though his screen debut
was in the US. He was capable of many diferent moods from comedy through to horror
and had a very magnetic on-screen personality.
He was born in Liverpool in 1890 studied at Oxford University and was a talented painter.
He is in a surprising number of classic British films from The Man who Knew Too Much
to Went the Day Well.
