John Gregson started in small roles in big films in 1948 and by the mid 50s had become a
stalwart English type. Famous for his roles in Ealing Comedies, and especially
Geneveive, he later became a dependable officer sort and eventually found
a niche as everyones favourite Scotland Yard Inspector in the TV series Gideon's Way
He died at the early age of 55 from a heart attack.
