Ann Todd
Born January the 24th 1909 in Hartford (England). She started on the stage in 1928 but gradually moved into films during the 1930's despite the set back of a bad car accident!

Appeared in many films but is mainly remembered as the vulnerable pianist in the film "The Seventh Veil" (1945). Married director David Lean (of "Brief Encounter" fame) and starred in several of his films including the much under-rated (in my opinion) "The Passionate Friends" (1949) - US: "One Woman's Story".

Later in the 60's directed several well received travel documentaries.

More to come...
