Born Florence Lindon Travers in Newcastle-on-Tyne (some say Durham), England. Her career never quite got to the level one felt it ought to have done but she is always a pleasure to see in bit parts and supporting roles throughout the late 1930's and 40's. She retired from the film industry in the late 1940s to spend more time with her husband who died in 1974. After this she spent some time travelling and eventually settled in Cornwall. More recently she was interviewed for a UK Alfred Hitchcock documentary. Sadly she died on October the 23rd, 2001. There is an obituary online in the Guardian which may be read here.
